MIAMI (AP) — Miami guard Dwyane Wade has had surgery on the left knee that was bothering him throughout the Heat's run to the NBA title. He opted to have the knee surgery early in the offseason with hopes of being ready for the start of training camp this fall.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Penske Racing will use Sam Hornish Jr. this weekend at New Hampshire as the team waits for more information on suspended driver AJ Allmendinger. Allmendinger was suspended by NASCAR for failing a random drug test and has until Tuesday to ask for his "B'' sample to be tested.
BESANCON, France (AP) — Britain's Bradley Wiggins won the first big time trial of the Tour de France on Monday and extended his overall lead. The three-time Olympic track champion extended his margin over defending champ Cadel (kuh-DEHL') Evans to 1:53.
SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) — The San Jose Sharks have hired Hall of Fame defenseman and former Stanley Cup winning coach Larry Robinson as associate coach. The Sharks had been looking to add a former player who could help the penalty kill unit to the staff. Robinson won six Stanley Cups as a player and another as coach of the New Jersey Devils in 2000.
