Generals Quieted by Lookouts Monday Jackson limited to just four hits in the 6-1 loss

CHATTANOOGA, TENN. (AUGUST 27, 2012) - The Generals were limited to just four hits on Monday, falling to the Lookouts at AT&T Field, 6-1. The Chattanooga win forces the rubber match of the five-game series on Tuesday afternoon. The Lookouts move back to three games up in the second half, North Division standings.

The Generals struck first for their only run on Monday night in the top of the second inning. With the bases loaded Rich Poythress scored on a double play hit into by Johermyn Chavez, making the score 1-0.

Chattanooga rallied with two outs in the third and after a walk to Jan Vasquez; he scored on hit by leadoff man Rafael Ynoa to tie the game at 1-1.

The Lookouts big inning was the fourth inning scoring three runs against starter Anthony Fernandez. Chattanooga scored on a bases loaded walk by C.J. Retherford, RBI ground out from Nick Buss and home run from Jake Lemmerman. Chattanooga took a 4-1 edge.

The Lookouts went on to score a run in the fifth and seventh winning game four of the series, 6-1.

Jackson starter Anthony Fernandez (4-3) suffered the loss giving up 4 runs on 4 hits in 4.0 innings of work. Fernandez walked 3 and struck out 2. Steve Garrison pitched the final 4.0 innings for Jackson and allowed 2 runs on 6 hits, striking out 3 and walking 2. Lookouts starter and Dodgers top prospect Zach Lee (4-3) earned the win giving up just a run on 3 hits over 6.0 innings. Chattanooga relievers Rubby De La Rosa, Paco Rodriguez and Stephen Ames blanked Jackson over the final 3.0 frames.

No General collected a multi-hit game on Monday.

The Generals continue their 10-game, 2-city road trip Monday playing the finale of a five-game series at Chattanooga. First pitch is at 1:15 p.m. CT. RHP Taijuan Walker (7-8, 4.22) starts for the Generals opposite RHP Andres Santiago (01, 4.40) for the Lookouts.The game will be available only on jacksongeneralsbaseball.com and the Generals TuneIn Radio Station.
