Jackson struck first and led 2-0 after a single by Joe Dunigan scored Jesus Sucre and Chih-Hsien Chiang.
The Generals lead didn't last long as Jacksonville scored three runs to take a 3-2 edge. Kyle Jensen capped off his 3-for-4 game with an RBI single and then Ben Lasater hit a two-run homer run.
The Generals loaded the bases with one out in the ninth, but Jacksonville reliever Sandy Rosario struck out Joe Dunigan and Denny Almonte to end the threat.
Jackson starter Steve Garrison took the tough-luck loss after allowing 3 runs on 7 hits in 6.0 innings. In the quality start Garrison struck out 2 and walked 1. Relievers George Mieses, Forrest Snow and Mauricio Robles posted scoreless innings after Garrison. Jacksonville starter Brian Flynn (3-0) earned the win.
Stefen Romero and Chih-Hsien Chiang were each 2-for-4 in the game for Jackson.
The Generals begin the playoffs on Thursday at Pringles Park, taking on the Chattanooga Lookouts in game one of the Division Series at 6:05 p.m. It will be Dollar Night, presented by MobileNation.
