CHATTANOOGA, TENN. (SEPTEMBER 8, 2012) - In one of the best pitched games of 2012 season, Chattanooga shutout Jackson 1-0 to force a game four of the North Division Series. Generals' starter Taijuan took a hard luck loss allowing just one run in 7.1 innings pitched. Chattanooga's Chris Reed, Onelki Garcia, Jose Dominguez and Steve Ames combined for the three-hit shutout.
Chattanooga's lone run of the game came in the bottom of the eighth inning. After Taijuan Walker exited the game, Jonathan Arias surrendered an RBI double from Rafael Ynoa that scored Griff Erickson.
Walker (0-1) struck out 4 and walked 4 in the 7.1 innings pitched, his second-longest outing of the season. Walker threw 99 pitches. Chattanooga reliever Jose Dominguez earned the victory striking out 2 in 2.0 scoreless relief innings.
Francisco Martinez, Jesus Sucre and Stefen Romero came away with the Generals three hits in the game.
The Generals and Lookouts will play game four of the North Division Series Sunday afternon at AT&T Field in Chattanooga, with first pitch at 2:15 p.m. ET LHP Anthony Fernandez (4-3, 3.32) starts for Jackson against a to be determined starter for Chattanooga.. The Playoffs are presented by Chick-Fil-A. The game will be available on News/Talk 101.5 FM, jacksongeneralsbaseball.com and the Generals TuneIn Radio Station.
