Refs approve contract...Mickelson and Bradley on a roll...Tide leads the way

IRVING, Texas (AP) — NFL referees have approved a new eight-year contract with the league. Following the 112-5 vote this morning in Irving, Texas, most of the refs headed to the airport to catch flights to the sites of tomorrow's games.

NEW YORK (AP) — Talks are slated to continue today in the NHL labor dispute. The two sides met yesterday and walked away from the table with agreements on some minor issues.

MEDINAH, Ill. (AP) — Keegan Bradley and Phil Mickelson are leading the way in what is shaping up to be another big session for the Americans at the Ryder Cup. The Americans are up in all four matches today, with Bradley and Mickelson 4 up in their foursome against Lee Westwood and Luke Donald. The duo took down Europe's two best teams yesterday.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) — Alabama, the nation's top-ranked team, has a home game this evening with Mississippi. The Crimson Tide is unbeaten in four games and is 1-0 in SEC play. For the Tigers of Ole Miss, this is the opening conference game of the season.

EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) — Two ranked Big 10 teams are squaring off today in East Lansing, Mich. The contest has No. 14 Ohio State playing 20th-ranked Michigan State. This is the opening conference game for each school.
