Tennessee Sports Headlines for Sunday 10.28.12

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Jordan Rodgers threw for 217 yards and two touchdowns and ran for a score to lead Vanderbilt to a 49-7 victory over Massachusetts. The Commodores broke open a seven-point game with two late first-half touchdowns in 55 seconds. They added four touchdowns in the third quarter to claim successive wins for the first time since starting 3-0 last year.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) — Quarterback Jerick McKinnon ran in three touchdowns, including the game-winner in triple overtime, as Georgia Southern held off Chattanooga 39-31. Georgia Southern's victory on Saturday night kept the team in sole possession of first place in the Southern Conference.

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) — Logan Kilgore threw three touchdowns as Middle Tennessee defeated North Texas 38-21 on Saturday, snapping a two-game skid against the Mean Green. Kilgore threw touchdown passes of 18 and 72 yards in the first quarter.

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Scott Lathrop rushed for 179 yards and two touchdowns, and Levi Terrell added 137 yards and two scores to lead Southeast Missouri State to a 48-27 victory over Austin Peay on Saturday. The Governors outgained the Redhawks 440 to 435 yards, but Southeast Missouri rushed 62 times for 399 yards to keep the ball away from Austin Peay's offense.
