Vols Win, Lady Vols Blasted

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — The Tennessee Titans finally have their first victory in a month. It was an ugly game against the New York Jets that they had no business winning, and that's OK with them. Yes, winning really is all that matters. Coach Mike Munchak said Tuesday it didn't matter how it looked, they won and it's a nice feeling of relief. The Titans visit Green Bay on Sunday.

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) — Raymond Cintron led four players in double figures with 15 points and MiddleTennessee routed in-state foe Tennessee State 77-48 Tuesday. Marcos Knight tallied 14 points and a team-high six rebounds while Neiko Hunter and Shawn Jones added 13 apiece.

AUBURN, Ala. (AP) — Jordan Price scored 12 points and pulled within distance of threatening the NCAA record for consecutive made 3-pointers as Auburn defeated Tennessee Tech 81-62 Tuesday night. The victory pulled Auburn to .500 for the first time since a one-point loss Nov. 21 at Boston College.

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Malcolm Smith made a go-ahead layup with 1:02 left and Martin Smith followed with a clinching dunk as the twins from Clarksville led a 15-0 run through the final 3 minutes to push Lipscomb over Austin Peay 87-84 Tuesday night. Freshman Stephen Hurt set career-highs with 23 points and 18 rebounds for the Bisons.
