NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Union University’s Amber Rechis earned Tennessee Sports Writers Association Women’s Basketball Player of the Week accolades after hitting seven 3-pointers and averaging 16.5 points in a pair of wins last week.
The Martin, Tenn., native made four trifectas and finished with 16 points in a victory over Rust College. She was 6-for-14 from the field overall and added two assists and one steal in the contest.
Rechis followed that with 17 points, including three more 3-pointers, in a win over Virginia-Wise, going 7-for-12 from the field with one assist.
Rechis joins teammate Amy Philamlee as Union Lady Bulldogs to win this honor this season.
Union has won five straight contests and does not play again until January 3 versus Delta State.
