Lady Vol Burdick out with broken bone

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Tennessee forward Cierra Burdick is out indefinitely after breaking a bone in her right hand. Although the Lady Vols didn't practice Monday, Burdick was working out on her own when she fractured the fourth metacarpal of her shooting hand. There is no timetable for Burdick's return, though she's expected to be back before the end of the season.

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Florida seniors Jon Bostic and Omar Hunter say they're are done dwelling on what might have been if not for their lone loss to Georgia. After finishing third in the BCS standings, one spot too low to play for a national title in Miami, the Gators say they remain motivated heading into Wednesday night's Sugar Bowl against Louisville.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Louisville coach Rick Pitino isn't worried about a letdown after the big victory over Kentucky. That's because the Cardinals have something to prove in Wednesday's Big East Conference opener against Providence. Louisville's 90-59 loss at Providence last January was the Cardinals' worst of the season.

CINCINNATI (AP) — BenJarvus Green-Ellis didn't suit up for the Cincinnati Bengals' practice on Tuesday. He was in black sweatpants and a hooded sweatshirt, running by himself at one end of the field, while everyone else ran plays. It's another challenge for a running game that's hit the wall.
