Handling adversity Tennessee's biggest concern

By BETH RUCKER AP Sports Writer KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Tennessee coach Derek Dooley's biggest question about his players heading into the season was how they would handle adversity. He got his answer when the Volunteers collapsed after back-to-back scores by Oregon. Figuring out how to bounce back from bad plays - like a 72-yard run by Ducks running back LaMichael James and an interception thrown by Vols quarterback Matt Simms that was returned for a TD - is now Tennessee's biggest concern. Saturday's game against No. 10 Florida may not carry the same national appeal without former Tennessee coach Lane Kiffin takings shots at the Gators or All-Americans Tim Tebow and Eric Berry meeting head on. It gives Dooley a chance to see if his team can prevent another meltdown like the 48-13 loss to Oregon. (Copyright 2010 by The Associated Press.  All Rights Reserved.) AP-NY-09-13-10 1839EDT
