The Diamond Jaxx and Memphis Redbirds are teaming up to offer Jaxx fans a chance to see the Mariners’ Triple-A affiliate, Tacoma Rainiers, in Memphis this week. Former Diamond Jaxx players, such as Dustin Ackley, Mike Wilson, Dan Cortes, Matt Mangini, Greg Halman, Jeff Dominguez, Jose Yepez, Anthony Varvaro, Mauricio Robles, Edward Paredes, Blake Beavan and Josh Lueke lead Tacoma towards a PCL Championship.
All games in the best-of-5 series against the Tacoma Rainiers will be played at AutoZone Park starting on Tuesday, September 14
th at 7:05pm. At the conclusion of the regular season, renovations began on Tacoma’s Cheney Stadium rendering the field unplayable.
This is the Memphis Redbirds’ second consecutive Championship Series appearance and 3
rd in team history. In 2009, the Redbirds swept the Sacramento River Cats in 3 games, and in 2000, Albert Pujols helped Memphis win its first PCL crown in walk-off fashion against the Salt Lake City Buzz in Game 4.
