Titans' offense grinds to halt, can't protect lead

By TERESA M. WALKER AP Sports Writer NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Vince Young ducked the question over whether or not Tennessee got too conservative on offense protecting a lead against Denver, referring questions to his coach and offensive coordinator. So coach Jeff Fisher, do you need to throw the ball more? Well, Fisher said Monday the Titans did throw the ball a bunch in a 26-20 loss to Denver, ran it well and can do both better. The problems that led to Tennessee (2-2) producing only 46 yards offense and going 0 of 5 on third downs in the second half? Fisher says it's a combination of the Titans offense and the opposing defense. One thing's certain. The Titans got shut down by Denver in a blueprint others will surely try to follow starting with Dallas (1-2). (Copyright 2010 by The Associated Press.  All Rights Reserved.) AP-NY-10-04-10 1843EDT
