KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Bruce Pearl wants to focus on coaching
Tennessee and not the black cloud over the program after he
acknowleded lying to NCAA investigators.
The coach says he's looking forward to developing his players
and figuring out how they all fit together when the team holds its
first practice Friday.
The NCAA was looking into allegations that Pearl improperly
hosted a recruit at his home and that he and his staff made an
excessive number of phone calls to recruits when the coach provided
incorrect information to investigators.
If Pearl is bothered by the looming allegations, he isn't
letting on to his players. Junior guard Cameron Tatum says he's the
same enthusiastic coach he's always been.
