KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Tennessee basketball coach Bruce Pearl
is working without a contract while the NCAA investigates his
staff's recruiting practices. A Tennessee spokesman says Pearl's
contract was terminated on Sept. 9, a day before he revealed to the
public that he had provided incorrect information to NCAA
investigators.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Tennessee Titans quarterback Vince Young
says whether he plays against the Philadelphia Eagles won't be
decided until Sunday. Young did not practice Thursday because of
the left-leg injury suffered in Monday's win against Jacksonville.
Young says he feels better every day.
PHILADELPHIA (AP) - The Philadelphia Eagles are getting used to
seeing good running backs. The Eagles are preparing to face
Tennessee's Chris Johnson on Sunday, having dealt the last two
weeks with San Francisco's Frank Gore and Atlanta's Michael Turner.
Gore and Turner combined for just 97 yards.
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Tennessee football coach Derek Dooley
says it will be a little strange when he sees his former boss on
the other sideline this weekend against Alabama. Dooley spent seven
years on Nick Saban's LSU and Miami Dolphins coaching staffs before
taking the head coaching job at Louisiana Tech.
