Two Jackson
Fire Department Personnel Suspended Pending a Hearing
In a report that you will hear first
exclusively, News Talk 101.5 has learned that acting Fire Chief Mike
Morgan has suspended two Fire Department Personnel involved in the
Nicholas Melton June 3 vehicle fire accident. Chief Kelan Hullom and
Nathaniel Bell have been suspended with pay pending a due process
hearing. Melton died as a result of a single vehicle accident when the
truck he was driving struck a tree and caught fire. Concurrent
investigations by the Madison County Sheriff’s Department and the
Jackson City Fire Department preformed as a response to complaints
received from on-scene personnel revealed that a city fire truck unit
62, was the first on the scene however failed to render aid. Reports
differ as to the reason for this failure of action.
